Sarah and Damon initially got in touch with us last year about their Blake Hall wedding. We were immediately excited by the prospect of shooting their day, it sounded wonderful! We’d actually shot at Blake Hall before and have been eagerly awaiting an opportunity to return ever since. It’s definitely up there as one of our favourite venues in Essex. The grounds and venue itself are so well kept. There’s attention to detail at every turn and it’s constantly undergoing improvement. This is really nice to see as not all wedding venues continue to invest and improve. Austin is also wonderful. He completely understands and appreciates the value and importance of having the day documented- overseeing the day calmly and unobtrusively with this in mind.
Having chatted to Sarah and Damon ahead of the day itself, it was clear that the star of the show was to be their beautiful daughter, Alexa. On the days itself Alexa seemed to be having the time of her life every time she caught our eye. How could you not be with great food on tap, your best friend in tow and space hoppers to play with!? We were able to capture so many fun photographs of her having a great time, which we hope will be cherished in the years ahead.
A bit of luck with the weather
The sun shone all day for Sarah and Damon, which is somewhat of a miracle in itself. Both the day prior to their wedding and the day following turned out to be a complete washout. The rain was relentless! We’re so pleased that they got the beautiful day they deserved.
