We know that for a lot of couples it is important to find a wedding photographer that they get along with. After all, you’ll be spending a fair amount of time communicating with them in the lead up to your wedding. Even more so on the wedding day itself. For some couples though, it’s also important to contract suppliers who share and support their own sense of ethics and moral values. That’s why we’re incredibly open about the fact that we’d like to think of ourselves as eco friendly wedding photographers.
For the last few years we have been taking small steps (and the occasional big leap) to try and live more kindly. Naturally this has followed through into our business and this has meant big changes all round.
We now do our very best to be as green as possible in our business. We strive to be responsible and accountable at every turn. For us a big part of this is constantly researching and reviewing the suppliers we use to ensure that we are only supporting sustainable, environmentally kind businesses. Wherever possible we bulk buy to minimise pollution through transit, also helping to keep costs reasonable for our couples
Cruelty free couples
Louise is also vegan. At home and in business we are cruelty free too. It is important to us that our products are free from harm and free from animal bi-products of any kind. We no longer offer leather albums for example and we swapped leather camera straps for professional camera belts long ago.
In addition to all the small changes, occasionally we also take big leaps- like phasing out delivery of USBs as standard in favour of digital delivery. We are proud to be one of the first photographers to have taken this decision and we began phasing out USBs in 2013. We believe real change only begins when we fight against “norms” and in stopping USBs for USB’s sake we are leading the way in helping to prevent senseless waste.
Preventing paper waste
In 2018 we have also made the move towards being paper free. Couples are able to complete their entire booking with us from the initial point of contact, right through to the point of delivery (and beyond) without ever having to waste a single sheet of paper! We can provide online everything- no need for printed brochures or paper contracts as we make everything accessible 24/7, online. We encourage our couples to use digital processes where possible. When we do provide paper or cardboard goods, our products are always from sustainable sources, recycled already or totally recyclable.
