Layer Marney Tower was where we ended our 2016 season. Shooting Natalie & Charlie’s wedding was the perfect end to our year in so many ways.
The day started off shrouded in a blanket of fog and although it was December, the day was pretty mild. By mid-day the sun had also begun to make an appearance, resulting in the most beautiful golden light diffused through the clouds. Layer Marney Tower is a stunning place at the best of times, but today it was exceptional.
It was also really lovely to be shooting between Christmas and New year. Any other time, it’s a bit of a no mans land, but everyone was in such high spirits and so excited to finally be celebrating Natalie and Charlie’s wedding. We were welcomed warmly as soon as we arrived and told to do whatever we liked- something that as a photographer is always great to hear! Knowing that not only your couple, but their families trust your vision too is priceless. Immediately we knew they were going to be a good bunch and we were excited for the day ahead!
The rest of the day at Layer Marney Tower proved to be the perfect winter wedding. We couldn’t have asked for more. Gorgeous warm colours, sparkly bridesmaids dresses and a roaring open fire- later followed by sparklers and some seriously strong dance moves.
Hope you all enjoy. Comments welcome at the end of the post. You can also find and follow us on
