It's been just over a week since we made the trip down to Surrey for Lucy & Jason's Gildings Barn wedding. Like many couples, their wedding was originally due to take place earlier in the year, but covid put a bit of a spanner in the works for that plan. However, things may have just worked out in their favour as they were blessed with a pretty perfect August day! In spite of a few rogue showers in the morning the rest of the day turned out to be beautiful and meant that all of their celebrations could take place outside following their ceremony.

Lucy & Jason's wedding was particularly special for so many reasons. We have known Lucy for years and she met Jason around the same time that myself and Sam met. So we've pretty much always known them to be together. Over the years they've welcomed two beautiful children who were undoubtedly the stars of the show on the day! We got to see a few familiar faces and catch up too, which is always lovely and makes the day feel a lot more effortless as there's already a connection there with the couple and guests. Something that made things even more personal was how much family involvement there was in the day. All of the beautiful fresh flowers that you'll see throughout this post were by Jasons incredibly talented mum (Poppies Florist Liverpool). We loved how natural and vibrant they were. A bit of colour is definitely a change to the usual muted and paler tones that people opt for with weddings.
In addition to this, Lucy's multi talented mum made both the wedding cake and the stunning flower girls dress for Lucy & Jason's daughter. It matched Lucy's dress perfectly!
Something that went down particularly well was the garden games! The traditional garden games included a tin can alley and wooden skittles among others. These were such good fun and went down a treat not just with the kids, but also the adults too.
Whilst we work on the full set of photos we wanted to share a few teaser images from the day. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do! Feel free to follow us on our social media accounts for more teasers and info when the rest of the photos are ready. Links are below!
