This week we have been so overwhelmed by the generosity of our clients. In the lead up to Christmas we have delivered a number of client orders. Predominantly, wedding albums.
Twice this week we have also been on the receiving end of the most wonderful gifts from our clients, who’ve wished to express their thanks. On Friday there was an unexpected knock on the door. It turned out to be a delivery from A Kind Mama- Vegan bakery, on behalf of one of our July couples. Inside were the most gorgeous looking cake Jars, in an assortment of yummy flavours. It’s such a lovely thought that a couple would wish to look for a gift for their wedding photographer. It took us by complete surprise and we feel so lucky to work with the most kind and generous couples.

Yesterday we delivered another album and again we were surprised by the couple. I was just about ready to cry at that point. This lovely, lovely pair presented us with a real assortment of goodies. This included a variety of vegan and non vegan cheeses, plus a selection of chutneys and pickles. All alongside a couple of bottles of something special to wash it all down with. How thoughtful and generous is that?
Gifts for your wedding photographer
So why have I made this post? Firstly, it’s nice to acknowledge and thank the kind thoughts of others, so wonderful couples, if you’re reading this, again, thank you so, so much. You have really brightened our week.
Secondly, I just wanted to convey that whilst gifts are always, always cherished and appreciated they are by no means expected. All we ever want from our couples is for them to be pleased with their photographs. It’s why we’re there, and it’s always our number one priority. We know that we are just a small part of the over all story and we’re eternally flattered to be the ones chosen to help tell it.
The biggest thank you we could ever receive is genuinely a “thank you.” Feeling like your hard work for a couple is appreciated is a wonderful feeling. Moreso when you know they love your photos too.
We also know that weddings are expensive enough as it is, so again, we wanted to convey that gifts are not expected as “the norm” for any suppliers. If you feel that you must offer more than a thank you to your wedding photographer, or any other supplier for that matter, a positive review is always going to make a world of difference to a small business. A positive review can help to attract more clients, which in turn helps the business to continue operating. Your positive review can lead to a booking which in turn leads to several other bookings via referral. It’s a gift that keeps on giving!
So if you’re thinking about gifts for your wedding photographer, know that your gesture will always be appreciated, but it is never expected. A thank you, a lovely email, a positive review is more than any of us would ever expect.

Your smiles, happy tears and gratitude make every late night and sacrificed Saturday worth it. So thank YOU for making it all possible.
