Post all the covid lockdowns and wedding postponements it's felt like we've barely had time to come up for air. Since the restrictions on weddings eased it feels like it's gone from zero- 100mph overnight and not stopped for the last 12 months. Understandably, blogging and social media have taken a bit of a back seat over the last year as we've prioritised shooting and editing weddings. In an effort to accommodate all of our postponed weddings and not let any of our couples down, it's felt like we've had more time on the road than in the office of late. It's therefore always a joy when we're able to finally meet a couple and finally shoot their wedding. Especially when it turns out to be as Epic as Abbie & Stephens. Their Yurt garden wedding took place at Abbie's family home and was a day we wont be forgetting in a hurry.
Yurt wedding by Staffordshire wedding photographers
Not only was their wedding bursting with energy and joy, it had so much personality and an evening celebration like we've never seen in 11 years of shooting weddings. It was insane in the best possible way! A huge shout out to their band The Indie Killers who absolutely rocked that Yurt! If you're in need to a band who are incredible at what they do, you wont go wrong with these guys.
What we so loved about Abbie & Stephens day was that the smiles didn't stop. From the moment we arrived to the moment we waved goodbye at the end of the evening. We loved the personal touches and how much attention had been paid to seemingly minor details. The woodland walkway from the carpark to the main site of the wedding for example, the swing, the lighting, the family photos. It was as though no detail had gone overlooked and yet didn't feel contrived or inauthentic. It was all just beautiful and dreamlike.

Although we've been photographing weddings full time for 11 years, this was also our first experience photographing a Yurt wedding! To say we were impressed is an understatement. Unlike Tipis (which we also love) or other quirky marquee options, the white light and high open ceilings were a dream to shoot in. If you're considering a Yurt for your wedding or celebration, you wont go far wrong with one.
We could genuinely talk forever about how much we enjoyed Abbie & Stephens day, but instead we'll leave you with a few teasers from their wedding whilst we work on their full gallery. We cannot wait to share more from this wonderful day soon!
