We’re sure that most of you will know already, but last month we got married! We finally did it! After setting the date almost 3 years ago and having a bit of a roller coaster journey, we finally tied the knot a few weeks ago.
Two ceremonies
We got married, just the two of us, in a private ceremony near home on September 8th. We rolled up to the registry office in our jeans and along with our witnesses we sealed the deal. For us, this was the insignificant bit. We didn’t exchange rings, say vows or anything during this part. It was merely a formality. This was before heading up to Lincolnshire for a weekend of celebration with just 12 of our closest family members. This is where the real wedding would take place.
Those who’ve followed our wedding planning journey for a while will know that we originally planned a big tipi wedding. Unfortunately even wedding photographers are not immune to wedding planning drama. Consequently, earlier this year we made the decision to cancel our plans and elope instead. As luck would have it, this ended up being a blessing in disguise and we had the most amazing day.
The actual wedding day
On the 12th September we hosted a very personal, very intimate, ceremony. This was for our nearest and dearest only and was conducted by a celebrant. The whole thing was crafted just for us- it was totally unique.
It became quite a time consuming task trying to frantically plan a last minute celebration, mid wedding season, having previously cancelled everything. But somehow we did it and most importantly, it was worth the stress.
We don’t have our full set of professional photos or our wedding film back as yet, so we’re limited on what we can share, but here’s a little snippet of what we have so far.
